Together for Peace and Understanding

On 7 June 2026, UNESCO World Heritage Day will be celebrated under the theme “Together for Peace and Understanding.”

The German Commission for UNESCO and the Association of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Germany invite all 55 World Heritage Sites across Germany to take part in this nationwide day of action. Visitors can look forward to participatory activities, special guided tours, and a diverse programme including free tours, exhibitions, concerts, art projects, and hands-on activities for children and young people.

National Opening Ceremony in Regensburg

In 2026, UNESCO World Heritage Day will be officially opened at the World Heritage site of the Old Town of Regensburg with Stadtamhof.

National Opening Ceremony
